Workmanship Warranty Terms and Conditions

These Workmanship Terms and Conditions outline the specific details of Checkmate Roofing & Construction’s workmanship warranty for roof installations and replacements. This document covers the terms and conditions for the workmanship warranty only and should not be confused with or interpreted as governing the general terms and conditions of Checkmate Roofing & Construction as outlined on its dedicated terms and conditions pages.

Scope of Workmanship Warranty

  • Warranty Period: This workmanship warranty covers defects in workmanship for a period of [specify number] years from the date of project completion.

  • Covered Defects: The warranty covers defects in installation, including but not limited to improper flashing, sealing, nailing, or ventilation.

  • Exclusions: The warranty does not cover damages caused by normal wear and tear, acts of God, negligence, improper maintenance, or modifications made to the roof by parties other than Checkmate Roofing & Construction.

Warranty Claims Process

  • Notification: Customers must notify Checkmate Roofing & Construction of any suspected workmanship defects within 30 days of discovery. You can submit a notification by email to office@checkmateroofing.com, by messaging to the corporate number 1-800-ROOFING (700-3464), or by mail to any of our addresses listed on the contact us page.

  • Inspection: Checkmate Roofing & Construction will inspect the claimed defect within 7 days of receiving written notification.

Warranty Limitations

  • Customer Responsibility: The customer is responsible for maintaining the roof according to manufacturer recommendations and local building codes. Homeowners may not attempt to repair or maintain the roof themselves, nor may they authorize third-party contractors to perform such work. Any unauthorized work may void the warranty.

  • Consequential Damages: Checkmate Roofing & Construction is not liable for any consequential or incidental damages resulting from defects in workmanship.

Transferability

The warranty is transferable to subsequent homeowners one time only. The new owner must contact Checkmate Roofing & Construction within 60 days of the transfer via email at office@checkmateroofing.com to register the warranty in their name. The warranty period will not be reset or extended by the transfer.

Dispute Resolution

All disputes arising from this warranty will be handled internally between the customer and Checkmate Roofing & Construction first. If an internal resolution cannot be reached, the parties agree to pursue mediation before resorting to arbitration.

Disclaimer

Checkmate Roofing reserves the right to change and modify this warranty without notice. However, all warranties previously issued by Checkmate Roofing will be honored based on the terms and conditions in effect at the time of service.
